Crystal Pro Switch 30K

Why have one flavour when you can mix things up with two? Well that’s what you get with the Crystal Pro Switch 30K kit, and we got to try it out.

Vapesourcing UK sent this Crystal Pro Switch 30K pod kit over for me to have a run at.

Since the disposable ban came in earlier this year, there have been countless variations on these ‘big puff’ devices that you can replace the pod in. I’ve had loads of them to review, and they are genuinely not usually my thing at all, but I see a place for them in the industry as cheap, simple kits that can entice smokers away from the ciggies. Take out the appealing to kids argument that the government are using to demonise vaping as a whole, and kits like these are godsends for a lot of ex and transitioning smokers who aren’t looking to make vaping a hobby or a big part of their life. I sneered at vapes like them myself until my missus completely stopped smoking using them, and she had tried all kinds of vapes before but always went back to the smokes.

This one is made by a company called Suonon and they seem to have only three devices available at present, the 10k one that Michelle reviewed recently, this one, and a 50k puff device that I assume is for the international market rather than the UK as it looks disposable.

The Crystal Pro Switch 30K kit has an 850mAh battery inside it and charges via a USB type C Slot. It comes with a big dual pod that has two different flavours of liquid in it and allows you to switch between them with a flick of a wee switch. There’s an LED display to show how much battery power is left and this indicates which flavour you’re using as well.

Style wise, it is medium sized and the pods come preassembled, which is good for this kind of kit as it can get complicated trying to figure out what goes where with these dual flavour prefilled pods. You just take off a bung on the bottom of the pods and slot them into the device and away you go making it good for taking out with you on a day or night out. There’s a plastic strip that envelops the middle of the pod all the way round vertically and on the front that has the flavour name on it so it’s easy to see which one you’re vaping at any time. The flavour pods are also nice and clear so that you can see exactly how much liquid is left. The device part has the switch on it to switch between flavours and looks well made so you’ll be able to get replacement pods so you can use it again and again.

Function wise, it’s draw activated only and then there’s the switch I’ve mentioned so many times to switch the flavours. When you slide the wee switch, the display will show whether you’re using the left or right liquid pod, so you know exactly what flavour you’re on.

In use, I found the draw to be really loose. The kit uses 0.8ohm dual mesh coils so you’d assume it’s a MTL device, but I don’t have a very hard draw and despite loving a loose MTL, I found it a bit hard to get a decent draw off it MTL style. It’s more of a RDL device for me personally so unless you can suck a golf ball through a garden hose, you might find the same. But the RDL draw is good, it’s just where I like it. You can get a fair amount of vapour from it, and the flavour is quite intense.

I was sent one of these kits to try out and it was a blue raspberry themed one. I do enjoy a puff at some sweet blue razz now and again. The flavours are super sweet and pretty damn cold so if you’re missing that since the disposable ban, then this is the kit for you.

Blue Razz GB

It’s super sweet and the blue razz is a nice version of the flavour. I found it raspberry forward with the blue aspect coming in nicely to temper the tang and sweetness from the raspberry. It’s icy cold and there’s a lot of sweetener in it.

Blue Razz Cherry Ice

It’s the same blue razz as above but the cherry adds another dimension entirely and deepens the rest of the flavours while taking a little bit of the sweetness overall away. The ice is cold again, and the cherry is a fruity one with no off tastes.

Final Thoughts

Having tried a lot of similar prefilled pod kits, it’s nice to see that the pods come preassembled. I can’t imagine how frustrating it would be trying to assemble a complicated pod while gasping for a vape while I’m in the pub. With the Crystal Pro Switch, you can just pop the pod in and go, which makes it attractive in my eyes.

The flavours are reminiscent of the super sweet and super icy disposable efforts that used to be around, and while it’s not my thing, I can also appreciate the flavours underneath as they are mixed well and do cut through the additives.

Thanks again to Vapesourcing UK for sending the Crystal Pro Switch 30K over for testing.
